Jason Sides Wins Second Night of Boot Hill Showdown in Dodge City, Kansas

DODGE CITY, Kan. — July 2, 2011 — Jason Sides knew he wasn’t going to get very many shots to pass Jason Meyers. Meyers had been stout all weekend and started the second night of the two day show on the pole and led early on. However, lapped traffic proved to be the window of opportunity that outside pole sitter Sides needed in his Weld Racing wheel equipped sprint car. “Lapped traffic played a big role in tonight’s race,” said an exhausted yet excited Sides, who led the final 17 laps of the 30 lap event. “Meyers got in there a little bit hot and slid up the track a bit and that opened the bottom up for me. There was quite a bit of wet stuff low so that was the best place for our car. When I saw that open up, I knew I had to take it.” Swindell rounded out the podium finishers after setting Quick Time on the night with a 13.570 lap around the three eighths mile oval.
